A growing number of schools across the nation are installing technology that can instantly tell police when a gun is fired.
State Del. Scott Taylor wants to bring that technology to new Virginia schools. He has prefiled a bill for the 2016 General Assembly proposing that blueprints of new public school buildings include active-shooter gunshot detection and alert systems.
The technology has been used by the military in Iraq and Afghanistan. It uses sensors..
