Shooter Detection Systems’ CEO Supports Boston Police Foundation at Gala – March 5, 2016
SDS CEO Christian Connors and his wife Jessica attended the Boston Police Foundation’s third annual Gala to help “Back up Boston’s Finest”. The event raised funds to assist the department in providing special equipment and training for Boston officers when traditional funding channels fall short. Also in attendance was former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis, who led the department during the Boston Marathon Bombings. As an Ex Officio member of the Foundation, Davis sits on the Board of Directors, and is also a member of the Shooter Detection Systems’ Advisory Board.
The event drew some star power when Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg, who were in town working on the film “Patriot’s Day,” stopped by to present the Hero’s Award to Boston Police Officer John Moynihan, who was shot during a routine traffic stop last year. When asked about the film at the gala, Wahlberg told The Boston Globe “We don’t want to take away attention from what’s important, and that’s honoring these officers tonight.”
