Improving Emergency Communications
SDS has always worked closely with the industry’s leading 911 notification providers to send gunshot location data to emergency services. While these important integrations are still available, SDS has improved how this process works by directly incorporating the transmission of enhanced data for 911 operators directly into our solution. Now not only will law enforcement have access to a more detailed, comprehensive set of event data but PSAP/emergency services operators will have a dedicated, human resource to help them interpret and distribute data in real-time.
Solutions for Small to Medium Sized Businesses
SDS’ parent company, Alarm.com, helps small businesses find economical, easy-to-implement security solutions. Working with Alarm.com’s engineering team, SDS has created a special version of its award-winning sensor that can now be easily installed and monitored by Alarm.com service providers. Active Shooter Intelligence will now be even more accessible to small businesses that want the detection capabilities found in SDS’s enterprise class solution, but at a lower cost of ownership and support from their Alarm.com service provider. This solution is available exclusively through Alarm.com service providers for customers that use the Alarm.com platform to manage their video, access control, and other security devices.
Outdoor gunshot detection for building perimeter security
SDS has always been the market’s leading choice for indoor gunshot detection and tracking. SDS will now, based in part on our groundbreaking work with the Department of Homeland Security, expand its product offering to include building perimeter coverage. Unlike competitor solutions that are just a weatherized version of their indoor sensor, SDS’ new product is being built from the ground up to deliver reliable coverage of your organization’s parking lots, entrances and courtyards. And since the same acoustic and infrared signal verification technology is used for event detection and verification, customers can be assured that SDS will continue to deliver a market-beating high detection/low false alert product. And unlike outdoor solutions that rely on acoustical recordings and signals analyzed by human operators, SDS’ perimeter solution will not record, process or transmit audio data. SDS’ total building perimeter solution will work seamlessly with existing indoor installations and is designed to provide security and law enforcement with a complete picture of gun violence activity in and around a single structure. This solution is in development and will be available later this year.
